Side is a  the silent beautiful province of Antalya in Turkey. There are not much people on roads  and only the  Golden beaches and sea waves can be heard sitting on the beach .Sea surrounds Side in such a way that you can see the other side of  sea coast  after the small land areas behind you standing on a beach.

It is a flat small north-south 1 km long  peninsula in the Mediterranean sea .It  is located on the eastern part of Pamphylian coast. The total area of side extends from the south of Asia Minor between Lycia and Cilicia, from the Mediterranean to Mount Taurus.

You find all kind of landscapes in Side from the Sea beaches, peninsula  to the Taurus mountains, waterfalls. The mountain forests and the plains .You have many fruit gardens and also golf clubs in Side.

 It is popular for its historical asset. The ruins of seventh century BC the temples and the great gate that indicate it to be an important trade point for sailors coming to the Asia minor and these days it is important for scientists as a favorite spot for watching the solar eclipse of March 29, 2006. It is a very popular vacation destination for many a tourists.

Tourists visit Side name  signifies pomegranate in local language ,for its historical assets ,ancient temples on the sea cost, historical monuments, the Great Gate, The fountains,  museums and amphitheatre.

Historically it was an important trade point of Asia Minor ,trade through the sea , this peninsula was later also popular for its slave market. The harbor is in front of the Apollo temple ruin that looks quiet attractive with the sea coast on one side along with the sun movement. As if you are praying to the God in the Temple for giving us the cosmic sea and sun.

There are different sporting facilities available in different seasons. There are ski lifts, ski season run between January to April. Water sports like wind surfing ,moving on hills on horses ,water skiing ,boating, rafting at the waterfalls area and fishing.

The weather of Side is a that of a Mediterranean type and travelers can hire car or have a taxi for traveling across the place. In Summer the temperature goes above 30 ° C in the month of July and August. Winters are best for tourism as the temperature are above 15° C and a sunshine of 5 hrs.

There are many good shops, cafe and restaurants in the city center where you can shop for handicraft items or gold Jewelries . Turkish Gold Jewelries are very popular among the tourists coming here.

The restaurants server all kind of foods ,the special food of this sea side area are the grilled fish. You have many varieties of fish barbeque ,grilled ,curry  ,you can select as per your choice and you can also get the wine type you wish to have. You will also get the taste of different varieties of  Turkish deserts served in these restaurants .

The main airport close to Side is Antalya airport. There are many shops and a market in the city center and the restaurants offer a good food mainly popular ones are fish delicacies.
