City Gate |

The City Gate is the famous old ruins preserved in its original form
in Side. Now the gate is badly damaged because of the different season, geographical changes, movements.
After you pass through the gate you come to the area decorated with flat stones .This starts as two streets on two sides. On these were made like marble columns but only remains can be seen.
On both two sides of the streets are decorative porticos and behind them are shops. After these you have the broken stubs near the Roman Baths and the fountain "Nymphaion".
The public bath is restored as a museum and displays the Roman period statues and sarcophagi. After this you have the Agora popular for during Slave Trade of Side ,today is has shops and is shaped like a square . |
